I don’t mean handholding in a lovey dovey, romantic sense.

How many tweets out there are people asking the “celebs” to hold their hand? They lose all brain functions to think for themselves.

Celebs are humans just like you and me, they don’t have all of the answers, they’re  not going to wipe your backside for you, sure they’ll raise your profile if it’s for a great cause, but geez, c’mon all the other stuff.

You can figure all of that out for yourselves that’s what google, yahoo, bing, ask jeeves etc., were all invented for.

Don’t beg to be followed, to get someone well known  to follow you, have something to say.

Just because they’re well known doesn’t mean that they know more than you.

Sure respect those who are well known, but don’t put them on a pedestal.

When I reply to a celeb on twitter, I don’t do it to raise my profile, I do it because I agree with something they’ve said, or they’ve said something really funny, or I don’t agree with something they’ve said.

I don’t give a rat’s ass if they never reply back, I won’t cry, I won’t go and slash my wrists, boo hoo hoo.

Sure I’d be in awe for a few seconds but that would be it, I would be talking to just another human being.

I would say the majority of celebs would love it on twitter if you spoke to them as if they were just another person in the street.

Don’t suck up to them because they’re well known.

I tweet to people like Gary Vaynerchuk, Philip Schofield, Vernon Kay, Suzi Perry, Jason Bradbury et al,  because I see them as just like you and me, they have families, they go shopping just like you and me, heck they may even share the same interests as you and me.

Remember we can all become celebs if you’re in the right place at the right time, whether it be for good or bad reasons.

Listen up you moronic Phishers, you cannot revoke/suspend/close online banking accounts, they’re all tied to physical bank accounts. If your bank wanted to do such a thing they would write to you to inform you in advance of such action taking place.

Honestly do you really think I’m going to fall for it? I don’t have a cahoot, HSBC, Natwest, Barclays, Bank of Nonsense etc bank account.

So this is a shout out to all of you out there, your bank will never ever send you an email asking you to click a link to prevent your account from being closed, they will always send you a letter.

If you want to have fun, I’d give them these details:

Thank you and have a nice day.

I finally gained access to my @wizzardsblog account on twitter. Instead of confusing people even further, I have decided to use the account to tweet out new blog entries through twitterfeed.

It will tweet out once per hour with one blog entry each hour, so if you still happen to be following the account, it won’t clog up your stream too much. They will always start with the word “blog”.

So you can call this blog post a little test.

Computers should be manufactured with an instant shutdown as soon as the shutdown button is pressed the computer should just switch off.

It would stop me from switching it off before it had completed the shutdown properly. I seem to be in rather a hurry lately.

You know in the normal flowing conversation on twitter, you subconsciously enter certain keywords without trying to attract attention.

No sooner did I mention a swimming pool. I’m now being followed by one.

Say hello to @swimming_pool pity it’s just a whole load of tweets flogging his/her swimming pools.

So what tweeters have you attracted in-advertently?

Once in a while especially when the weather is nice, just kick off your shoes, close your eyes and chill to some easy listening music.

I’m currently listening to an old classic, Mike Oldfield – Tubular Bells.

It never ages.

Even if it is just for 20 minutes, just take time out and chill.

Yes I’ve got my personalised facebook URL to my profile:

http://www.facebook.com/richard.arblaster

I don’t like the word vanity, there is no vanity in wanting people to remember an easy to remember link to your facebook profile page.

Especially if copying and pasting of the link fails so you end up typing a large string of characters that you will end up having a couple of attempts to get right.

So lets knock it off with the “vanity” and call it “personalised”.

If I want to be vain I’ll look in the mirror thanks.

Today I’ve hooked up my blog to youtube ready for when I start video blogging. Not quite sure how it works, I’ll have to read into it a little more, but I think I get the general idea.

I still have my .tv domain which will house all of the video content. Eventually I plan to just move completely over to my .tv domain and probably move to VPS in anticipation of the bandwidth and space usage.

In business we all know it can be cutthroat always looking at the bottom line. However how many owners/directors actually think about their employees?

Companies changing offices/policies, are the owners/directors doing it for the benefit of their employees or they doing it because it’s more convenient for them?

If you are the owner/director of a company, don’t take your eye off the ball, always look at the bigger picture. Never just do something because it’s convenient for you. If you start doing that you’ll have a lot of disgruntled employees.

Employees make a company remember that, if you suddenly lost all of your employees whould you be able to cope with the workload left behind?

Don’t move your office 100 miles down the motorway just because you’ve found a cheaper place to rent, what about your employees? Not all of them will relish the 200 mile round trip to work each day, or the possibility of having to relocate. Especially if there are young children involved, uprooting them having to find new schools, making new friends etc..

We’re not numbers on a spreadsheet, we are human beings and need to be treated as such.

If you want to cut your wages bill, take a salary cut yourself, put yourself in your employees shoes.
