Sorry for the lack of images, it would appear that the zemanta plugin on my blog is playing up, I have emailed  their support bods for a resolution, for now you are just going to have to use your imagination. :)

It would seem there’s a new Twitter DM attack going round. I only noticed it this morning when I received 2 identical DMs (Direct Messages) from 2 accounts.

If you receive a DM that starts with “Haha thats you” then delete the DM, do not click the link on the DM.  Because I’m having an off day, I clicked the link without thinking, luckily Firefox was alert to the danger and prevented a faux pas on my behalf.

A black and white world doesn’t exist. It’s in flux from one second to the next.

Plans change, circumstances change.  You don’t change with the world around you, you will be left behind.

I’m not saying act like sheep and go with the flow.  If it suits your current situation then yes do it but don’t do it just for the sake of keeping the status quo.

Spot that the world is changing around you, don’t just stick your head in the sand.

Look out for the opportunities, because you haven’t tried something before, don’t be afraid say “yes” you might like the outcome.

I’ve started saying yes to a few more things lately and my life is progressing forward not looking backwards.

Just because something is printed in black and white at a fixed moment in time, you don’t have to keep following it, use your initiative, intepret something differently and you’ll be surprised at the results.

Give me a break buzz has been out just over a week, doesn’t have the features twitter has and people are jumping on the “twitter sucks” bandwagon.

I think they both have a place in social media.

Tell me why twitter sucks compared to buzz?

Swimming goggles
Image via Wikipedia

This article on digitalspy made me shake my head.

Yes we do need health and safety to prevent accidents, what about kids that have sight defects? That need the goggles so they can see properly. I speak from experience, I’ve suffered from short sightedness since the age of 10 and when I used to go to the swimming pool, I couldn’t see a thing because I didn’t have goggles. Nothing mentioned about potential eye strain.

There are pescription goggles out there for kids, but under this new ruling they’d be banned from using them unless their eyes become irritated by the chemicals in the water.

So parents smother your kids in cotton wool so they don’t feel the affects of the big bad world and then wonder why they end up in hospital with a huge infection because their bodies haven’t been allowed to build up an immunity.

Fly me to the moon somebody!!!

To keep the momentum going. Nothing much has really happened today, I’m going through tons of old paperwork that I need to ditch. Also re-organising my filing system so things are easier to find.

I’m playing catchup for the rest of the day, will be firing up tweetdeck shortly to see whats been happening.

My hospital appointment has now been rearranged for March 10th, which now coincides with my car being taken in for its MOT. A little bad timing, however I do not really want to cancel this appointment.

Still not heard anything back about the temp job I’m waiting for the vetting check to be completed on, fingers crossed I’ll hear something on Monday.

I’ll probably be posting another entry later after I’ve caught up.

Hmm interesting. They did have a brief foray into this market directly themselves and they pulled out again. So what’s going to be different this time?

I suppose having an infrastructure in place already is a massive help. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Heres a link to the announcement.

Thanks to fool uk for the heads up.

Just a little heads up to let you all know, links that I insert manually,  for example a link to an article they will open in a new window or tab.  Links that I click on to automatically insert (via the zemanta plugin), normally a link to the front page of a site,  they will open in the same window, this means you will be taken away from the blog to the site in question.

I’m sorry this will prove to be a tad annoying, it means I can pump out content a lot quicker than making sure every link behaves in the same way. If I get enough negative comments then I will consider making all links open in the same manner.

As the title says this is the kind of reality TV I like.  According to digitalspy Five are commisioning a series called “Business Inspector”. It will use the same premise as “Hotel Inspector”, where an expert will go in and try to turn the business around.

I have been fascinated by how businesses are run from an early age. It’s great to bring in an outsider, they can see with fresh eyes where businesses are going wrong and hopefully save them from financial ruin.

Just installed this updated version, the new layout looks great.

When I came to install it under Windows XP, it created a totally new Evernote 3.5 folder and left the old 3.1 folder intact.

Evernote 3.1 can be safely removed via the Add and Remove Programs console without affecting the new 3.5 folder. I wouldn’t recommend doing that until you login to Evernote 3.5 because it will detect the old 3.1 database and prompt you to either copy the database over with all of your old notes into the new one or create a new database, obviously I chose to copy the database over.

Now you can remove Evernote 3.1
