Being as the proposed rail strike is going to mean no train services from Stafford on Friday 9th April. I can give 3 people a lift to the event. If you live in Stafford or nearby and can get into Stafford before 8.30 am and is willing to hang around until the event finishes then you’re more than welcome to hitch a lift. Please let me know in the comments below.

Contributions to the fuel costs would be more than welcome :)

I have noticed in the years that I have been using a computer to type out letters make notes etc., that my handwriting has really gone downhill. It isn’t that I don’t know how to write anymore just that I find a computer much quicker to type away at than actually writing stuff down.

I end up writing in such a hurry it looks like a spider has dipped its legs in ink and decided to meander across my notepad.

I’m same with unruled notepads, I’ve never been able to write from left to right on the same line, by the time I’ve got to the right-hand side, I’m 6 lines down from where I’ve started, so I have to get an A4 lined piece of paper and place it underneath so I can write straight.

Anyone else finding themselves doing this?

I’m definitely going to have to write a lot of stuff down in one format or another. I had forgotten I’d got something on pre-order and it has now been despatched, nice surprise, the bank balance is going to groan though. Even if it means I have difficulty understand my spider scrawl writing (this has given me an idea for another blog entry).

Evernote is going to go into overload by the time I’m finished.

Ok embedded below is a video of the latest inmymug.com if you don’t know what it is, it is the video blog from Stephen Leighton owner of “Hasbean” coffee roastery, a very nice bloke who’s really enthusiastic about coffee.

The rules of the competition were very simple either embed the latest video on your blog or tweet out that you’ve watched the latest episode with the #inmymug tag. So I decided to go for the video route :)

Online adverts really bug the hell out of me. Why not just have a discreet google adsense ad instead of hi-jacking my browser with pop ups, pop outs, pop unders? Worst of all video adverts that automatically play when you visit a site.

All of these really put me off, if your site does it, I disappear in about 2 seconds unless I really need to use your site to download or research something.

If you want to regular visitors to your site, do something that isn’t intrusive.  Do you really think you’re going to have increased revenue by turning your site into a billboard?

I may have touched upon this subject briefly before. Just thought I’d like to expand on it a little more with regards to how criticism is reacted upon when received.

The mature response is take it on board and improve on the piece being critiqued. Unfortunately there are some out there who take the immature approach, they remove the piece completely and every other piece submitted even if the other pieces received great feedback.

I really have no time for people who’s egos are that big they take drastic action like this. Sure I have an ego, but I don’t go round removing my stuff because I got a bad review, I may have a moan about it for a couple of hours then everything is ok.

Please learn from feedback do not remove and please grow up.

Got a busy day ahead today. Dropping my car off for its MOT then off to Birmingham for a dental appointment this afternoon.

I’m going to be having an early night tonight, not used to getting up this early.

Please do not call me on my mobile from a withheld number. I like to know who’s calling me. Please put 1470 or what ever prefix in front of it.

Or leave me a message so I can return your call. I don’t want to end up talking to a sales person trying to flog me the latest time saving device.

My Gadget Show Live 2010 ticket arrived this morning. Really looking forward to it, was hoping to have a job at the same time so I could afford to buy a couple of things, but hey ho, plenty of window shopping to be done :)

I’ve decided to dip my toes back into the IT water. I’ll be starting off with the A+ 2009 objectives then working my way up. Getting the A+ done will be the easy part, finding employment will be the killer.
