There are some people out there who are shysters, they prey on the unsuspecting freelancer, basically they are people who act unscrupulously.
More and more of them are turning up on sites like freelancer.com.
They aren’t even projects, some of them are out and out scams. I do really feel sorry for those who bid on these “projects”. Most of them clearly do not read the project brief clearly enough before bidding.
Slow down and take your time to read the brief carefully, if your gut instinct tells you not to bid then don’t do it.
Also stop being willing to do projects for peanuts. Put in a proper bid that will leave you enough money to live on. Bidding $30 on a 30 day project is ludicrous. Don’t be frightened if you think you are bidding yourself out of the market. You have to think about No 1.
It doesn’t matter where you live in the world. Just because your country maybe be poor it doesn’t mean you have to be taken advantage of. Break the cycle of project creators who are in it to make huge profits for themselves and do not take into account the wellbeing of the freelancers they hire.
Bid on a project for what you think you are worth not the project creator thinks you are worth.
