Had a bit of a busy day yesterday, went for a job interview, will hear back soon how it went. I can’t wait to start working again, it’ll mean I’ll be able to save for a laptop with a webcam and will able to start videoblogging.

As the title of this post says.

I don’t care what your job title is, it’s what you do that counts. I could make up comedy job titles if I wanted to.

It’s time to change the mindset of people. Call yourself what ever you want, as long as it doesn’t offend someone. I’m more impressed with what you can achieve, your job title is way off in the distance.

In fact job titles can cover up how much you actually do. You can give yourself a fancy job title and actually do bugger all, all day.

If you aren’t already aware I have been unemployed since April and have been claiming Job Seekers Allowance since then.

So on friday my local job centre plus left me a message to call them to book an interview.

So I phoned this morning and it seems this 13 week review is going to be a little different than the last one, it’s going to be a group session.

This little session is going to take place next Tuesday, I’ll let you know how I get on.

If you really enjoy what you do, does it really matter how many hours you spend doing it?

When I see people complaining that they’re working such long hours, it makes me think “Are you really enjoying what you’re doing?”

If not do something about it, be brave and take a risk, get the enjoyment back into what you do.

Okay should I take the plunge and break the shackles of potentially having a boss to answer to 37.5 hours a week?

I have been toying with the idea for quite some time now. Regular readers (fingers crossed) will already know that last year I only worked 3 months and this year so far I’ve only work around 4 months. I have now been out of work for 2 months so far this year.

I have a rough idea of what I want to do and that is writing etc, however as I’m just about to start out, I’m not going to be able to command big fees for my work, so that won’t cover the rent.

So I’d be looking for additional income streams to supplement this. Any ideas? Please post in the comments below and on twitter.

Just in case you didn’t think my facebook update about me looking for work in the Stafford area was serious, I’ll repeat it here.

Yes I am really looking for work in the Stafford area, I’m not bothered about what kind of work as long as I get an income. I know it smacks of desperation, because I am, desperate times = desperate measures.

If you do have something for me then contact me.

As promised here is a quick follow up.

It was an interesting meeting, filled out a few forms and went through my CV, the lady gave some very useful pointers in how to improve my CV.

Because it wasn’t in a formal setting I think made it more interesting and more relaxing, so we talked about quite a few things, past experiences etc..

Got some things to follow up on tomorrow.

Fingers crossed.

Got a meeting tomorrow with a recruitment agency consultant tomorrow, taking a look at some potential jobs I might be suitable for at 2pm.

I’ll post a follow up tomorrow night :)

My temp office job finished on Friday, however in a Gary Vaynerchuk inspired move, I booked myself on a Door Supervisors course starting on Monday.

So be nice or you ain’t getting in ;)

A bit of a vague title, the title I was going to use would be a little too long to fit.

Have you ever taken up your boss’ invitation to tell him/her what you really thought of him/her?

Only to discover that you have your P45/pink slip waiting for you in a matter of days.

Please tell me in the comments, you don’t have to mention the name of your boss or the name of the company you worked for, unless you want to.
