Just got back from the event, another good event, lots to see and do.

I really enjoyed the Super Theatre (I won’t give too much away).  Suzi Perry looks great in a catsuit :)

Premium seats aren’t really worth the extra £2.50 unless you’re allocated in Block A. Last year I paid a fiver to sit in Block E and had a far better view of the stage. I took some photos of the Super Theatre, but most of them will be of people’s heads and not of the stage. The challenges for those unfortunate to win the phone and text game were a lot better this year and offered more comedy value :)

I really need to lose some weight to stay the full course, I’m completely worn out.

The price of the food was astronomical, it would have been cheaper for me to pop out of the event and go to subway which I only discovered was right outside when I came to leave.

Nvidia please produce a set of those 3d glasses that can fit over spectacles for those of us that have to wear them, other than that it was a brilliant 3D demo. Well worth a future investment for 3D gaming and movie watching.

@robosteel‘s metal sculptures look even more awesome in the “flesh”, took a couple of photos of those which I’ll post up on flickr later.

Another interesting audioboo from Christian Payne aka @documentally, (embedded below) talking about Packard Bell.

I’ve had a bad experience with their PCs years ago when I bought one from PC World. So have their products improved over the years? I tend to shy away from them because of this.

So tell me in the comments have they improved and should I invest in any Packard Bell Products in the future?

It beggars belief the lack of common sense on the internet.

Take for example the launch of the iphone v3 software yesterday, the amount of complaints about not being able to update/authenticate/verify their phones.

Take a moment to think how many iphone users there are in the world, all trying to do the same thing as you, i.e. download the new version and all the related stuff that goes with it.

Of course the servers are going to suffer under the tremendous upsurge in traffic, is waiting a few hours for the traffic to die down the end of civilisation?

If your iphone is that important to you, then why did you try and update on launch day? Wait for the rush to die down then update your phone.

I don’t have an iphone myself, however the stories I’m hearing about what O2 are up to is just pure greed. Making existing customers buy themselves out of their current contract before they switch to the new 3G S handset?

I’m all for making money, but don’t alienate your existing customer base. Don’t damage your reputation looking for short term gains. Your customers are just going to vote with their feet, even though they love the iphone. Also locking them into an 18 month contract sheesh.

Time for apple to ditch the exclusivity deal and open up the iphone to more carriers, let O2 compete for iphone customers.

This is the first time I’d actually been into an apple store, so I took the opportunity to go in and have a browse around, all out of my price range at the moment, nice to see the apple gadgets in the flesh and the Mac Mini is tiny, never realised how small it was.

I’ll be returning to Birmingham on 11th June, so will have another look inside.

Yes the time has come, this time tomorrow I’ll be inside the event. Next year if the event takes place, hopefully I’ll have a video camera I can take with me, so I can shoot some “live” video.

I’ll be taking some photos at the event, unfortunately not as many as I would like due to an incompatability between my camera and the new 1GB memory card I had bought for it. That can be fixed with a quick firmware upgrade, however I need to get a mains adaptor for it so it doesn’t screw up the camera completely.

I’ll be trying to pick up tons of freebies and hopefully I shall be able to give some of them away, as I do not have much room.

Yes you heard it, I will be giving away some of the freebies :)

So stay tuned, update tomorrow.
