The week is almost done. I’m off to my mum’s for lunch, that’s if my car will let me.
Fingers crossed it will remain sunny all day.
So what are your plans for today?

… is such a wonderful thing. You can be reading something and suddenly a thought pops into your mind, something you remembered years ago that got pushed to the back of your mind.
A word you recognise in an article sparks off a memory of seeing something with that name.
I used to work really hard at trying to remember loads of things, repeating them over and over so they’d sink in. You could guarantee you’d never remember them as you’d be forcing them in.
What I tend to do is not force myself to remember things, I may “forget” somethings, but I remember them years later.
So the next time you’re revising for an exam, learning lines for a play, don’t try and force the knowledge in, think of your brain as a sponge “soaking” up information. You don’t throw water at a sponge you let the water flow through the sponge, it will fill up.
Yes, were now into the second half of the year.
Kicked off the new month with an upgrade of the comluv plugin and a wordpress update to 3.1.4.
Thanks to a tweak of the ftp settings on my vps, I can now enjoy automatic updates without fear of them failing and having to try and do them manually.
The problem with being a month closer to the end of the year, it means another month without work. I’m going to start making some lists of what I’m going to do. The Wizzard’s Emporium e-store and blog is currently stuck in neutral, it’s kinda difficult to focus on it when your mind is being pulled in so many different directions.
I’m making small amounts of money from making sponsored tweets, it’s not going to keep the wolf from the door though.
I’m also racking up points taking part in paid surveys and clicking through links in selected emails, which I eventually turn into cold hard cash or money off vouchers, again still not making huge amounts of money.
I’m really going to have to focus on my blogging and try and stop being so de-motivated/lazy and actually market myself. I tell you what, I’m such a poor marketer, I’d end up sacking myself for poor performance
As I mentioned in my previous post, I don’t want to be shackled behind a desk, yet I find myself having to apply for desk jobs as thats where my expertise lies. Changing tack costs money. I know I’ll stop banging on about the financial aspect some day.
I know it’s very british to keep banging on about the weather.
It seems to be a lot cooler than yesterday after the rain which is a blessing.
No thunderstorm though which we were expecting.
I’ll venture out in the hope that I won’t be a walking sweat mound
I don’t think I’m going to get much sleep tonight, it is far too hot. According to the weather forecast it is going to get hotter then my favourite weather, storms.
I think we’re going to be in for a scorching summer.
That’s the hosting bill paid off for another month, which is big weight off my mind, so you get to enjoy a whole load more of my thoughts.
… is people that take what is written in a newspaper as gospel.
The amount of people who are running around screaming that the BBC are dumping their F1 coverage. Sure the contract is up for renewal in 2013, but no announcement to say they’re not going to fulfill the contract until then.
There is no need for petitions or hounding the BBC. Let them make an official announcement.
Shame on the Sunday Times and other papers that have jumped on the bandwagon stirring up people for no reason.
I’m not saying papers are not to be trusted, just don’t take what they print at face value and stop running round like headless chickens.
I think the newspapers have really made their money this past week.
I would like to take this opportunity to raise your awareness of the good work that is going on to help the residents of the tornado ravaged town of Phil Campbell, Alabama.
What started off as a fun idea to get as many Phil Campbells as they could into the town of Phil Campbell instead turned into a relief effort.
You can follow what is happening over at Phil Campbell’s blog:
Just an advance warning that all of my sites maybe going down for a few days after Sunday (19th). It depends upon how long after non payment my host will suspend my account.
I wouldn’t normally announce this, yes bad I know as people like to be kept in the loop. So the following sites maybe offline:
You will still be able to reach me on twitter, linked in, facebook and empire avenue
