If you don’t like something don’t comment with “that’s disgusting”, “you’re a ******* moron” etc, hit the down vote button. Or don’t say anything at all.

I’m not telling you how to post on the internet, it’s just courtesy.

Don’t act that it’s your first day on the internet and be under the obligation to comment on everything you see.

If you are going to post on an internet forum and you don’t feel confident in typing straight into the reply box.

Use notepad or a similar text editor to copy and paste from. Not some HTML program, it’s frustrating when trying to read posts that have a load of tags in them.

You can use microsoft word, just make sure that you paste as text only.

If you need to posts examples of code  into an internet forum, use the code tags if they are available or quote tags.

This isn’t a netiquette issue, it’s a readability issue.

How long can Virgin Media get away with fobbing off network issues as “upgrades”?

Yet another day with a sub par connection. Not all of your customers are luddites, some of us know “upgrades” is a catch all to cover up the fact that either your infrastructure is as good as a chocolate fireguard or you appear to not know what you are doing.

Farming off customer services to India, doesn’t help the customer, it might help your bottom line, but it’s the poor customers that get frustrated. How on earth do they know the infrastructure in a country thousands of miles away?

Do your customers a favour and bring your call centres back into the UK and hire people who don’t trot out the usual “have you turned the modem/router off, wait 10 seconds and switch it back on.”

We have already tried that, otherwise we wouldn’t be contacting you.

As for data protection issues, as long as were not discussing anything financial, anyone in the household should be allowed to deal with the problems.

So pull your finger out and get the infrastructure sorted.

Yes it’s another day in connection hell. The old elastic bands at virgin media seem to breaking under the strain of sooo much heat.

If you’ve been living under a rock, you won’t know about Google’s latest assault on Facebook’s domination of the social media universe.

They have launched a limited beta test of their latest offering, basically called “Google +”.

Yes we know what you’re all thinking, this is going to go the way of “Buzz” and “Wave” and the Dodo.

I was lucky to be sent an invite last night and have been having a little play around with it. Still got to get my head around it fully.

I’m mainly concentrating on the “Circles” part of the site at the moment, where you can add people to your circles, it’s like following someone on twitter and instead of putting them on a list as I tend to do, you add them to a circle of your choosing or you can use the ones Google offer you.

I’ll give you a full run down of what you can expect when I’ve used it a lot more.

I think Virgin Media should change it’s name to Gnats Fart Media.

It seems whenever a gnat farts the connection drops out or goes slow.

We all know you inherited a clusterfuck of a network, but please pour some serious money into getting issues sorted, then you won’t see these blog posts mocking your service.

Please turn autoplay off on your videos. Not everyone wants to watch the videos, or watch them immediately. Or at least have an option to turn off the autoplay.

I’ve had a busy couple of days migrating files over to a vps I purchased on Thursday.

Had a little bit of a panic when this blog wouldn’t transfer over, soon fixed when I discovered I’d over looked a setting.

So I have now cancelled the 2 hosts my sites were on and now everything will be in one place, so I only have to worry about a single bill.

Because I decided to buy the vps a week earlier than planned, I’m now living on canned soup and bacon baps until next Friday.
