Why is there a lack of communication from you when for whatever reason a show that is normally available on your on demand service isn’t available?

A quick update on the site would be enough. Allow the moderators to reply to the comments on the site, instead of them just removing the ones that break the terms and conditions of the site.

On the flip side, the commenters need to stop being lazy and use the links provided to report problems with the availability and stop relying upon others like myself to report them.

Do you have a twitter account, if not, get one asap and start communicating with your users. I’m aware you have facebook like buttons, but why not a twitter account?

Start communicating it isn’t rocket science!!!

I think I may have touched upon this subject before about negative commenters. I cannot find a blog post about it, could have imagined it.

Now I don’t mean the negative commenters who are actually making a valid point and making a counter argument about something, they are to be welcomed with open arms.

It is the commenters who have nothing better to say than “you suck”, “you’re a waste of space” etc.. To me these comments smack of jealousy, these are the commenters who will sit at their computer desks spouting bile because they don’t have the guts to get out there and push out content themselves, they happen to be jealous because someone is out there doing it.

If you think you can do a better job, stop bitching on youtube and in blog comments, go out there and do something about it. I read all comments, even those bile ridden comments, guess what I would normally ignore you guys, but no longer. I’m going to start challenging you all to come up with better reasons for disagreeing with something especially if the comment is full of bile and venom. You can disagree with someone without being nasty, derogatory and downright disrespectful. Leave that to the politicians.

I’ve formulated a new strategy in my head for sharing my thoughts with you folks in cyberspace. I’ll be pushing out content like this from my posterous blog to my wordpress blog. I will be sharing links on my tumblr account so things become less of a jumble.

Time will tell if I manage to stick to this strategy. Also the cool thing with tumblr because it only shares a link to the content I’ve found on the net, it will stop me being lazy and not writing a brief description about what I’ve found, it will keep my brain from turning to mush.

Then I’ll get my head around tweaking the twitterfeed settings so you guys and gals aren’t overwhelmed with duplicate content.

Just because certain members of Internet Forums have either had a privileged education or have  had the opportunity to have swallowed the Oxford English Dictionary or the Webster’s equivalent, they automatically think they have the right to be downright rude to other people or tear them apart.

Those who also think that their job title gives them sort of higher status in society are also guilty of this. Even though they have been in exactly the same position as those they seek to tear apart.

These so called “keyboard warriors” who believe that they are safe behind their keyboard and monitors, spitting venom and bile because they think there is no come back.

Sorry to shatter your little bubble, there is come back, it’s called “Karma” it is the biggest leveller on the face of the planet. It has no boundaries it doesn’t pick or choose you based on your perceived self worth and your perceived status in society. I won’t ask you for an apology if you’re rude to me, Karma will handle that.

Be careful who you spit on, ridicule or rip apart, the very same people you do it to, you may have to depend upon to help you out when you come crashing back down to earth.

What hope do we have when you don’t even know basic internet terminology? Could you explain to the public at large what an IP address is? Now please don’t google it you may end up visiting an illegal site.

I’ve heard about this bill, not really looked into it that much. But now starting to pay a little more attention to it.

We have all illegally downloaded stuff at some point in our lives, come on admit it. I’ve done it in the past with music, however the difference is, I’ve actually gone out and bought the tracks because I like them so much.

The problem with this evidence gathering where copyright holders can slap ISPs with a “copyright infringement report”. If they do it based on IP address which from my point of view is the only way they can gather evidence.

Does the government  realise that people share IP addresses, especially if they access the internet via a router or their ISP uses proxy servers, what about internet cafes? Worse still someone can drive by your house and if your wi-fi network is insecure they can download Lady GaGa’s latest tracks illegally then drive away and your IP address will be flagged.

There are many people out there who just browse the internet and to be slapped with a warning from their ISP because they are being forced to (because of the £250k fine) would send some people into a blind panic and worry them un-necessarily.

We are in the 21st century not the 19th century, the world has evolved so should the copyright laws.

I’m sure this bill was passed by technophobic MPs.

Online adverts really bug the hell out of me. Why not just have a discreet google adsense ad instead of hi-jacking my browser with pop ups, pop outs, pop unders? Worst of all video adverts that automatically play when you visit a site.

All of these really put me off, if your site does it, I disappear in about 2 seconds unless I really need to use your site to download or research something.

If you want to regular visitors to your site, do something that isn’t intrusive.  Do you really think you’re going to have increased revenue by turning your site into a billboard?

Just installed this updated version, the new layout looks great.

When I came to install it under Windows XP, it created a totally new Evernote 3.5 folder and left the old 3.1 folder intact.

Evernote 3.1 can be safely removed via the Add and Remove Programs console without affecting the new 3.5 folder. I wouldn’t recommend doing that until you login to Evernote 3.5 because it will detect the old 3.1 database and prompt you to either copy the database over with all of your old notes into the new one or create a new database, obviously I chose to copy the database over.

Now you can remove Evernote 3.1

This is another bug bear of mine. Posters not quoting the person they are referring to and just using ^^^^ to point to the post above. The problem with that is, if it is an extremely busy forum, your post isn’t guaranteed to be the next inline, so it confuses everyone and takes a thread off topic.

Cut out the laziness and quote properly, if you don’t know how to use the quote function, ask someone. It takes 1 mouse click to use the quote function and about 1 second of your precious time.
