I was just reading a gizmodo article about whether Apple could be the world’s most valuable company without Steve Jobs.

I say it won’t be, because Apple have spent far too long in the “shadow” of Steve Jobs. You cannot let just one man drive a company forward it’s just asking for trouble.

A sign for me that Apple is on the decline, instead of appearing to focus on new original products they’re too busy tweaking and modifying their old ranges, adding something here taking away something there, then sticking a new shiny badge on it proclaiming it to be something new and innovative, sure I’d love an iphone if I could afford one.

Another sign for me is when a company starts suing others for alleged breach of patents, that shows to me that Apple are no longer comfortable because other manufacturers are starting to make in roads into their market share. If you can’t beat them in the market place then throw millions at patent lawyers to beat them in the courts.

That just stifles competition, it smacks of desperation when a company sues others on aesthetics alone.

Apple pick up the ball, get your hand back in the game, stop these patent infringement cases and start coming up with new products to distinguish yourselves from your competition.

Oh dear here we go again, folks complaining that their iPhone alarms didn’t go off when they were supposed to, or not at all because yesterday we switched to BST (British Summer Time) or GMT+1.

There is a simple solution to the problem whilst you’re waiting for a software update.

It’s a completely low tech solution, get yourself a cheap alarm clock, even if its a wind up one.

Simple, right?

I love technology, but we are relying  far too heavily upon it.

My Gadget Show Live 2010 ticket arrived this morning. Really looking forward to it, was hoping to have a job at the same time so I could afford to buy a couple of things, but hey ho, plenty of window shopping to be done

Okay I have finally got a webcam for my wizzardsblog.tv video blog.

However I am facing a problem, because I am wearing glasses there is a reflection from the monitor in my glasses so you cannot actually see my eyes.  I need some suggestions for how to solve this reflection problem.

I have a Logitech C250 Webcam.

It does work, however I have to keep adjusting my monitor’s contrast and brightness controls after I’ve finished which is less than ideal.

Orange have signed a deal to sell the iPhone in the UK. Hopefully this will now drive prices down. I wonder how O2 will react now Orange get to play in the iPhone sandpit?

This afternoon I fitted a Jeantech PUFP-405 405w PSU into my PC. Never used this make before your thoughts on reliability?

Is likely to go up in smoke and fry my motherboard in a matter of days?

It beggars belief the lack of common sense on the internet.

Take for example the launch of the iphone v3 software yesterday, the amount of complaints about not being able to update/authenticate/verify their phones.

Take a moment to think how many iphone users there are in the world, all trying to do the same thing as you, i.e. download the new version and all the related stuff that goes with it.

Of course the servers are going to suffer under the tremendous upsurge in traffic, is waiting a few hours for the traffic to die down the end of civilisation?

If your iphone is that important to you, then why did you try and update on launch day? Wait for the rush to die down then update your phone.
