My nose seemed to be pretty good, first of all I could smell vanilla, then after a while with the bottle opened for a while I could also got a hint of red cherry. <p>This is my first ever wine tasting.</p>
<p>I chose <a class="zem_slink" href="http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=37.252945,-121.841372&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=37.252945,-121.841372%20%28Blossom%20Hill%20%28VTA%29%29&amp;t=h" mce_href="http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=37.252945,-121.841372&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=37.252945,-121.841372%20%28Blossom%20Hill%20%28VTA%29%29&amp;t=h" title="Blossom Hill (VTA)" rel="geolocation">Blossom Hill</a> California <a class="zem_slink" href="http://www.snooth.com/wines/Merlot" mce_href="http://www.snooth.com/wines/Merlot" title="Merlot" rel="snooth">Merlot</a> 2007.</p>
<p>My nose seemed to be pretty good, first of all I could smell vanilla, then after a while with the bottle opened for a while I could also got a hint of red cherry.</p>
<p>My palate however didn&#8217;t fare so well, it totally overwhelmed my &#8220;virgin&#8221; palate.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s only until the last few minutes that I could taste red cherry on my front palate.</p>
<p>Nice wine overall.</p>
<p>I definitely need some pointers on how to develop my palate further.</p>
