As stated in my previous entry, I started work on Monday, so haven’t really spent that much time online. Been trying to relax my mind after a days work which is difficult to do when catching up on emails and other stuff.
Now that’s out of the way, time to get to real subject of this post.
Why are we so ill prepared when bad weather strikes? All of the ministers say that we won’t be caught out if it happens again, yet here we are a year on and no lessons have been learnt, within an hour of the snow falling the whole transport infrastructure grinds to a halt. Pretty poor planning if you ask me, maybe the transport minister should take a leaf out of his scots counterpart and tender his resignation for the inadequate handling of the situation.
So how to the US and Canada cope when severe weather strikes? They have it every single year, lets have a look at what they’re doing to cope, things don’t seem to grind to a halt over there at the slightest snowflake.
