I was told many years ago that having computers would create a paperless office.  Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact we seem to have even more paper lying around the place than we did before the advent of the desktop computer. We humans are still distrusting of that grey box sitting at the corner of our desks, printing off every email and important document, just incase the hard drive sneezes and looses every single document you’ve been working on since the year dot.

I always laugh now when a young kid mentions the words “paperless office”. Paper in one form or another will be around for many years to come. Even when the trees are long gone, the boffins will come up with synthetic paper like they did with synthetic fibres many moons ago.

The MacBook Pro (15.4
Image via Wikipedia

I’ll be ditching Linux next year. I don’t quite have the money to buy a mac, so I’ll be making some improvements to my current PC.

I’ll be increasing the current amount of memory to 4GB.

I’ll be getting a graphics card, the onboard card is struggling and I can do with the extra 128mb that it is taking from my main system memory.

I’ll be buying a small hard drive to install windows on to.

Once I have done all of that, I’ll be saving for a windows laptop.

Then after that hopefully in 2010 I can switch to a Mac and and a Macbook pro.
