Yes I’m back at that point again, I’ve even had to search older blog posts to see if I’ve covered this subject before:

http://www.wizzardsblog.com/lack-focus/

Do you find yourself at this stage, where your mind is leaping all over the place? You are trying to find work and thinking about so much stuff you can do, then realise that there isn’t going to be a quick fix?

Even though I’m looking for desk bound type jobs, there is a part of me that no longer wants to be chained behind a desk.

I have looked at other career avenues I can take, especially the self-employed route, but everywhere seems to be so saturated, people have already been there, done it and got the t-shirt and got out of dodge before the saturation point.

I currently lack the patience to sit down and do a lot of leg work, which I feel is my downfall.

I love social media, but every man and his dog seems to be involved and calling themselves an “expert”. So it makes me feel wary about dipping my toes into the shark infested waters. What can I offer that no one else has offered before?

I’ve thought about writing and proofreading, yet again the market is saturated, so trying to make yourself stand out from the crowd is difficult, it would be like the daily slog of looking for work when there is plenty of competition out there.

I love photography, but to get decent equipment costs an arm and a leg, so I just have my very old fuji finepix A120 camera.

Yes it’s a bunch of excuses or “barriers”. But if we didn’t live in a society which is driven by money then the skys the limit.

In business we all know it can be cutthroat always looking at the bottom line. However how many owners/directors actually think about their employees?

Companies changing offices/policies, are the owners/directors doing it for the benefit of their employees or they doing it because it’s more convenient for them?

If you are the owner/director of a company, don’t take your eye off the ball, always look at the bigger picture. Never just do something because it’s convenient for you. If you start doing that you’ll have a lot of disgruntled employees.

Employees make a company remember that, if you suddenly lost all of your employees whould you be able to cope with the workload left behind?

Don’t move your office 100 miles down the motorway just because you’ve found a cheaper place to rent, what about your employees? Not all of them will relish the 200 mile round trip to work each day, or the possibility of having to relocate. Especially if there are young children involved, uprooting them having to find new schools, making new friends etc..

We’re not numbers on a spreadsheet, we are human beings and need to be treated as such.

If you want to cut your wages bill, take a salary cut yourself, put yourself in your employees shoes.
