You can’t buy followers
Just had this article from the BBC pop up in my inbox:

This is really sad, you can’t buy followers, it’s like trying to buy friends. If you want to make friends you go out there and be interesting, be a nice guy to be around and gain friends that way.
The same goes for followers, be interesting, have something interesting to say, then people will follow you.
Sorry uSocial you just don’t get it.
